The story behind Kyrö Distillery is perhaps the most Finnish you could imagine. A group of friends sat in a sauna sipping rye whisky asked, why are there no Finnish rye whiskies? And so they set out to make one. More than a decade later Kyrö Malt is now a widely acclaimed whisky made from 100% malted whole grain rye using a double pot distillation and aged in new American white oak barrels. Tasting notes: sweet rye bread, honey and wild berries with a peppery finish smoothed with mocha and caramel.
