Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Collection 2025 Featuring Monoface, Duoface, Geographic and Minute Repeater

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Collection 2025

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Collection 2025

For Watches and Wonders 2025 Jaeger-LeCoultre are focussing heavily on the Reverso collection, which makes a lot of sense because it’s their most famous and recognisable timepiece. Well, to be more specific they’re focussing on the Reverso Tribute Collection, but at this point they’ve released so many tributes that the word practically feels meaningless. I half wish they’d drop it and have courage to say, “this is the modern Reverso, deal with it”. But major Swiss brands are precious over nothing quite so much as their heritage.

There are four watches being released in the 2025 Reverso Tribute range with a wide mixture of complications on display. There’s a classic monoface, harking back to the original design of the Reverso, a duoface small seconds, a Reverso Tribute Geograpic and lastly a Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface

The original Reverso was an icon of the early 20th century thanks to its Art Deco design and versatility. The idea behind the reversible case that gives the watch its name, as the story goes, stems from horse riding and polo. By flipping the watch so that the glass is inside and the metal back facing outwards, the delicate parts of the watch would be protected while you’re gallivanting around on a horse (this was a time before the internet when such things were a lot more common).

Since the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds doesn’t have to concern itself with horses so much, it swaps out a sturdy steel case for a luxurious pink gold one. Measuring 45.6mm x 27.4mm x 7.56mm thick and presented on a Milanese bracelet made from the same material. Adding to the luxury aspect of it is the dial, which features a matt gold colouration with a grainy finish that adds a nice contrasting texture to the polished, smooth gold of the case and hour markers.

Inside the watch is a manual winding calibre, the 822 with 42-hour power reserve. As with all Reverso movements, it has to be specially designed to fit within the rectangular case, meaning Jaeger-LeCoultre produce it entirely in-house.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface

The natural evolution of the Monoface is the Duoface. It takes the same reversible design as the mono but instead of having a single dial and then a plain metallic caseback, the second side has another dial on it. By having two dials that operate independently from each other, the watch actually serves as a dual time zone watch, allowing you to keep track of two time zones simultaneously.

In that endeavour, the second face of the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds has a day/night indicator so you can keep track of whether it’s morning or evening halfway across the globe. The main dial of the watch is available in two variants, either blue or black with classic and elegant sunray brushing. I like the blue edition because the colder colour works with the metallic shine of the steel case – the case is slightly larger than the gold Monoface above at 47mm x 28.3 mm x 10.34 mm thick.

Powering this watch is another manual movement, this time the Jaeger-LeCoultre 854. It has the same 42-hour power reserve as the monoface despite having to power two displays at the same time.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Geographic

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Geographic

While it’s positioned here third in terms of the build up of complexity within the 2025 collection, I think I can safely say that the Reverso Tribute Geographic is actually my favourite. That’s because this is the first time that the Reverso Tribute has housed a worldtimer and on top of that, in order to create this watch they’ve produced a brand new movement. To be clear, the Reverso at large has featured worldtimers before, this is just the first Tribute version.

The watch is available in steel or a rose gold limited edition of 150 pieces. The main dial features hours, minutes, small seconds and a grande date at 12 o’clock while the secondary dial on the reverse side features the worldtimer. The major cities of the world are engraved into the case around the edge of the display, matching their position on the atlas illustration in the middle, then, between those two elements is a rotating ring of hours that shows the time in those locations. It’s a nice way to simplify and condense the wealth of information into the slim proportions of the Reverso Tribute.

As mentioned above, the movement inside is a new one. It’s the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 834 and once again, it has a 42-hour power reserve and is manual winding. JLC’s watchmakers are certainly consistent.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Minute Repeate

The most prestigious of the 2025 Reverso Tribute collection is the Minute Repeater. Minute Repeaters are haute horological creations that feature gongs and hammers capable of chiming in order to give an audio rendition of the time. Adding a new dimension to a watch, especially one as difficult to perfect as audio, requires immense skill and precision. It’s a complication JLC have returned to again and again, always seeking to improve upon their previous attempts.

Which is why the Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater houses another new movement, the Calibre 953. It features all of JLC’s previous innovations, including seven patents, but now has an improved power reserve of 48-hours. Ironically meaning this model has the longest power reserve of the quartet despite being the most complex and most power intensive.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater

Aesthetically it’s presented in a pink gold case and the main dial is produced in grand feu enamel over top of guilloché, adding another level of complexity with Metiers d’Art. On the reverse side the dial is skeletonised to reveal the inner workings of the Minute Repeater movement including the hammer and gong arrangement along the bottom from 7 to 5 o’clock, decorated with blue lacquer.
